E-commerce Merchandise Storage - Flow Racking System Case Study
Project Challenges
The client is an e-commerce company specializing in merchandise storage. E-commerce merchandise is diverse, with some products having expiration dates and batch management requirements. During peak sales periods, orders are concentrated, highlighting the pain points of the existing storage model:
- Ordinary racks cannot achieve strict first-in, first-out (FIFO) management, easily leading to the accumulation of near-expiration goods;
- Picking relies on manual handling, resulting in low efficiency and inability to handle peak sales periods;
- The existing racks have poor scalability, making it difficult to adapt to the expanding needs of e-commerce business.

Customized Solution
Based on the client’s core needs of “efficient picking, strict batch management, adaptability to peak sales, and low cost,” and considering the characteristics of the e-commerce industry—high order volume and the need for batch control—we tailored a flow rack solution for the client. The dimensions are precisely fitted to the e-commerce warehouse layout, specifically addressing various warehousing pain points.
- Specifications: 2000×800×2000mm, suitable for various e-commerce product storage, totaling 35 sets.
Solution Highlights: Precisely customized to perfectly meet the needs of e-commerce product storage and high-demand picking; achieves strict first-in-first-out (FIFO) operation, pure gravity sliding without additional power, balancing high efficiency and low cost, solving the pain points of customers who want to improve picking efficiency, standardize batch management, and adapt to business expansion through shelf upgrades.
